Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the developer of PDF Hub(“the App”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App reads, edits, annotates, signs, scans, merges, splits, compresses and converts PDF and Office documents stored on your device. All document processing happens on the device itself; the App has no accounts and no servers, and it does not upload your files. It is funded by advertising, as described in Section 10.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store you obtained it from (Google Play or the Apple App Store). All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

• Your files remain yours. We claim no rights over anything you open, create, or export with the App.
• Keep your own backups.Saving overwrites or creates files on your device. Because we never receive a copy of your documents, we cannot recover a file that is overwritten, corrupted, or deleted — by the App, by another app, or by you.
• You must be entitled to use the documents you open. Do not use the App on material you have no right to access, copy, or modify, and do not use it to remove protections or restrictions placed on a document by its owner.

You must not:

• Use the App to forge, falsify, or fraudulently alter any document, signature, identity document, certificate, qualification, receipt, invoice, or official record;
• Apply another person’s signature, or represent an edited document as an unaltered original, without their authority;
• Infringe copyright or other rights in documents you process;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except where the law expressly permits it;
• Copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the App or bundle it in another product;
• Circumvent, remove, or interfere with advertising, or use automation to generate fraudulent ad impressions or clicks;
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

We may terminate your licence if you materially breach this section.

The signature feature draws or places an image of your signature onto a document. It is a convenience for filling and returning everyday paperwork. It is not a qualified, certificate-based, or cryptographically verified electronic signature service and we make no representation that a document signed with it will satisfy any particular legal, regulatory, or contractual requirement in your jurisdiction. Whether an electronic signature is valid or admissible for your purpose is for you (and, where it matters, your legal adviser) to determine.

Converting between document formats, editing existing text, and compressing files are inherently lossy operations. Layout, fonts, spacing, embedded objects and image quality may differ from the original, and complex or unusually structured documents may convert imperfectly or not at all. Always check the output before relying on it, and keep the original.

The App includes Google ML Kit for document scanning and text recognition, which runs on your device under Google’s terms and privacy policy. Adobe, PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and any other brand names that appear in the App or its listing are trademarks of their respective owners; the App is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Adobe, Microsoft, or any other company. Files you share out of the App into other apps become subject to those apps’ own terms.

The App is free and funded by advertising, delivered through Unity LevelPlay mediation with ironSource and Meta Audience Network as demand partners. Ads are supplied by those third parties and may be personalised subject to your device and account settings, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not endorse and are not responsible for products or services advertised.

Advertising has no access to your documents. Ads are never targeted using the files you open or anything you type, draw or sign. We may change ad providers, formats, or frequency, or offer a paid ad-free option, at any time.

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features, and we may discontinue the App at any time. Updates may be required for the App to keep working. The App is currently free; we may in future offer paid features, and if we do, existing functionality that you already rely on will not be removed retroactively without notice in the store listing.

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL OPEN, RENDER, EDIT, OR CONVERT EVERY DOCUMENT CORRECTLY, OR THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, DOCUMENTS, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP — INCLUDING CORRUPTION OR LOSS OF A FILE, AN IMPERFECT CONVERSION, OR ANY CONSEQUENCE OF A DOCUMENT YOU SIGNED OR EDITED WITH IT — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (WHICH, FOR THE FREE APP, IS ZERO) OR, WHERE A MINIMUM CANNOT BE EXCLUDED BY LAW, THE SMALLEST AMOUNT PERMITTED.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including consumer-protection rights that apply in your country.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the App, including any use of it to alter or sign documents without authority.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. These Terms remain in effect while you use the App; Sections 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 17 survive termination.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be signposted in the App or its store listing. Your continued use of the App after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya, except that if you reside in a jurisdiction whose consumer laws grant you the right to sue in your local courts under local law, those rights are preserved. App-store terms (Google Play Terms of Service, Apple Media Services Terms) additionally apply to your download and may grant the store operator third-party-beneficiary rights.

• Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us concerning the App.
• Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force.
• No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the App.
